Lux Corporation was established in 1925 when radio broadcasting started in Japan. The radio department opened in Lux Corporation, Osaka, which handled pictures and frames at that time. As the department displayed radio receivers in the store showcases for the first time in Osaka, almost all the passengers stopped there to listen to the superb sound of the receivers. Luxman's history of seeking higher sound quality started from this moment.

While importing pictures and frames from abroad, Kinsuido also worked to obtain information too. The founder of Lux Corporation, who was the second-generation founder of Kinsuido, endeavored to repeat experiments and conduct R&D based on technical information on radio receivers from abroad.
Kinsuido Radio Book
Japan's first radio receiver guidebook called "Kinsuido Radio Book" was published in Japan under the catch line of "Once you read this, you'll be a cognoscenti of radio receivers." Although first published in small quantities, it later became a best-seller, reprinted in 14 editions. It is widely known as a magazine affecting audio engineers in diversified fields.

OY output transformers
Lux Corporation endeavored to develop a variety of audio parts to successfully compete with leading overseas parts manufacturing technologies. In 1952, Lux Corporation succeeded in producing many high quality parts, including OY output transformers.
Vacuum tube amplifier, MA-7A
Since 45/45 stereo records went on the Japanese market, record players took over audio from radio receivers. The MA-7A was launched on the market in 1958, a fully assembled Hi-Fi power amplifier sold for the first time after WW II, using our exclusive crossover NFB circuit covered under our international patents.
Vacuum tube pre-main amplifier, SQ-5A
The SQ-5A is a representative model among early stereo pre-main amplifiers. The SQ-5A was very popular thanks to its characteristic and innovative design, which arranged meters in the front center, and high quality sound, becoming a hot seller. It was equipped with Lux's exclusive tone control circuit, which was adopted in recent models.
Vacuum tube pre-main amplifier, SQ-65
The SQ-65 put on sale in 1962 adopted a motional feedback circuit also covered by our patented technologies. The circuit controls feedback in accordance with the movement of speaker cone paper.
Germanium transistor phono amplifier PZ-11
The PZ-11 was Japan's first phono equalizer amplifier incorporating germanium transistors. It attracted users' attention thanks to its small and slim design.
SQ-38D and WZ-30
Designed with a machined aluminum front panel and a wooden cabinet, the SQ-38 is a popular pre-main amplifier series, including the SQ-38D, SQ-38F, SQ-38FD, and SQ-38S, which was the newest 70-year anniversary model. These Hi-Fi amplifier were an old standby found in almost all the jazz music tearooms in Japan.
OTL vacuum tube amplifier, MQ-36
The MQ-36 was an OTL (Output Transformer-Less) amplifier not including an output transformer. The MQ-36 sold well for many years due to its exclusive pleasant sound quality
Pre-main amplifier SQ-507
Both the SQ-505 and SQ-507 were prototype models for the current pre-main amplifier, the 500 series. Their designs and sound quality continue today in our big hits: the L-507 and the current L-509f.
Lux Kit Brand Logo
When more people came to manufacture amplifiers for themselves, Lux Corporation established the Lux Kit Corporation, which sold about 70 types of vacuum amplifiers, transistors, turntables, measuring instruments, etc. Lux Kit became a brand that successfully took the initiative among do-it-yourself audio fans.
L&G brand log and its product image
The Corporation established the L&G brand to make new proposals for the environment surrounding audio products and life styles in which audio products occupied a larger mental portion. The audio system that adopted brilliant designs based on orange and while colors successfully gained support among users sensitive to the future, users who predicted the future trend of audio fields.

Lux Corporation commemorated its 50th anniversary with a successful export record. The M-6000 high-power amplifier, which aimed at high-end markets, was highly rated overseas thanks to the 300W ×2 ch output and superb sound.
Laboratory Reference Series
Luxman marketed a new audio system, the Laboratory Reference Series, made of components classified by functions. The Laboratory Reference Series adopted the first DC amplifier composition in the world. The synthesizer tuner, high performance equalizer, and other modern audio technologies were crystallized. Is this the right word??) in this series.
PD-300 incorporating a vacuum disc stabilizer
An analog turntable was produced and marketed, created by adopting a vacuum tube stabilizer in which space between an analog record surface and a turntable was removed before adsorption. The innovative mechanism avoided deformed record surfaces influencing sound quality.
Cassette deck incorporating an open-reel cassette unit (working sample)
Luxman succeeded in developing a new mechanism to draw a tape out of a cassette for reproduction. This technology reproduced sound quality from cassette tape equivalent to that of open-reel, attracting wide attention.
DA-07 incorporating fluency DAC (upper) and DP-07, CD transport
Luxman succeeded in developing fluency DAC by applying to it a function supplementation theory of Professor Toraichi, Tsukuba University. The technology to reproduce sound in bandwidths other than audible ones, not recorded on a CD, by means of function supplementation, expanded the applicability of CD as an audio source. Digital universal players now on the market have continued this.
D-500X CD player equipped with Philips CDM-3 mechanism
The D-500X CD player adopts a top-loading mechanism, eliminating unstable moving parts. The Philips CDM-3 mechanism, still popular with audio users, as well as double crown chips that are ICs selected as the very best and other superb technologies were mixed in this luxurious model, allowing many audio fans to enjoy playing music.
SQ-38S, 70th anniversary vacuum tube pre-main amplifier
This signature model commemorated our 70th anniversary. The SQ-38S adopted a Williamson circuit, an orthodox model using an output tube EL34 in a push-pull style, offering sophisticated sound quality backed by many years of experience with vacuum tube technology.
C-10 and B-10 that held sway in the field for the next 10 years
This flagship system adopted a new design clad in a symmetric exterior around a champagne gold body. The quadruple super ultimate attenuator adopted in the C-10 for switching 456 high-precision fixed resistances, among others, gained topicality as a challenge to work with new technologies.
CM-2100 equipped with automotive power amplifier adopting the ODNF method for the first time in the world
The CM-2100 was the first model of car audio power amplifiers equipped with the new ODNF feedback circuit after many years of research. The CM-2100 was accepted with some degrees of surprise as a product giving car accessory fields sound value similar to home audio units and is a reference model in many specialty shops and magazines.
High-end use universal player, DU-10, attracting public attention
The DU-10 was an epoch-making unit that proposed the concept of a universal player in a high-end audio world. The DU-10 convinced many users that it was a product using new technology with which SACD, DVD audio, and other new music formats could be enjoyed with high sound quality.
Luxman's first full-fledged multi-channel units, CU-80 and MU-80
These units were developed in response to requests by music fans who wished to enjoy non-compressed high sound quality multi-channels of SACD and DVD audio units, in addition to sound systems used in home theaters. Their innovative channel selections attracted much attention.
Vacuum tube amplifiers, CL-88 and MQ-88 with attractive designs
They are vacuum tube separate amplifiers developed since 1993 when the CL-38 and MA-88 were produced. Departing from conventional designs suggesting vacuum tube amplifiers, these models were rare cases in which designers' early proposals were put to mass production as they were.
